What can we say? Well we started out somewhere around summer 1998, end of June that was, with four people... These four fine young men being PJ on Bass, Kristof on Guitars, Ringo also guitars and Mondy on drums... Rehearsals took place in Pj's Kitchen and some entertainment (soccer) kept place in his garden... I guess the starting guiding lines for alignment were to make some chaotic, yet controlled music in the vein of Converge (yep they truly are the masters...) What came out were some frentic/metallic riffs, powered with pretty fast double bass drums... All went well until we had a gig coming, but no singer available... Pitt (hundred years of forgetting) volunteered and he seemed the right shot? This was all just temporary though... Anyway after that gig, that went very disorganised from our side, very chaotic, but still pretty as we wished Pitt decided he couldn't go on with it, and we got Sjaab in trade. Sjaab made his mark on Alignment with very spastic vocals, and personal-intense-political lyrics. He caught up pretty fast and so we kept going in the right way with more gigs... Kristof had then joined Aborted and found it very hard to combine both bands, so he decided to split ways (although this was with pain in the heart, since he was one of the co-founders of Alignment)... he has recently joined Liar on their mission, by the way... Alignment remained a four piece for quitte a while, during that period we played with bands such as Drop Dead, Rubbish Heap, With Love, Ananda and yes: Converge... So I guess you could say we showed our worth on bills with some great bands but we want to show more. Alignment has matured a lot lately and found even more thrills of it's own... Especially since lately Vincent Tetaert picked up another guitar to power the force... Expect gigs pretty soon or make your own...
